I am quite embarrassed. Apparently there is supposed to be a group of hairs in Nellies wig that are not lined up with the bangs. I have been looking and looking at pictures, and now the new Nellie came with the same thing in her wig.
The rest of her bangs are not as pretty as my first Nellie, and her arms and legs are really loose.
So, I am keeping the first Nellie. I am almost relieved! I really didn't want to send her back. She is the one my husband gave me, and I wanted to keep her so badly. I could tell my husband wanted me to keep the first one, too.
If I have time tonight, I will take some pictures of her.

I did a similar thing with our Nellie. The original Nellie's right eye looked a little off center, so they sent me another. The newer one's freckles were lighter and other subtle differences. We ended up keeping the fist one!

I know what you mean about the bangs...I don't quite understand why they did that. It sort of drives me crazy looking at them!

Glad you get to keep the first one. I know how it is when someone special gives you such a special gift. Can't wait to see the pics! Happy Birthday again.

I noticed that about the bangs too, and wondered if it was supposed to be that way! Guess it is - oh well

I just reacted too quickly, calling AG. I should have waited.
I do not consider the new Nellie to be a first quality doll, though. Her limbs are horribly loose. So, I won't make mention of the fact that I kept the first one. I'll just send the new one back.
I feel so much better, though, having the new one come, and deciding to keep the first one!

Great decision Jenny! Enjoy your Nellie Gal!
RebeccaMollyFan, I just received the Mini Nellie and Mini Samantha the other day. They are both cute and I like them very much. Currently they're hiding in my wardrobe for some special occassion to give to my niece.

We got mini nellie from barnes & noble.com for $11 (&some change) I don't know if they are still having the sale, but worth checking - also the barnes & noble store had their mini sam's on sale (although I think I paid $13 or something). But my girls just absolutely LOVE them. The mini's are birthday presents that get passed around their dolls at the many tea/birthday parties that have taken place since we got Kit's green table (another much [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] )
Oh, also, I must say that our mini-Nellie, Sam & Kaya that were received this Xmas are much nicer than the mini-Kit that I picked up last year - I don't exactly know why - but the quality seems better & the hair seems nicer...

That's where I bought mine too - same price.
Actually I didn't wait any longer, I gave them to my niece today as it was a special day today too - although not necessarily a happy one - we had my stepfather's funeral today and it was a long and boring day for her, with only adults around who came for coffee to our house afterwards - and she was such a good girl. That way she had some nice distraction with the new dolls, which we had to undress and change clothes a few times.
She also said, she wished she could do magic then she'd turn them into big dolls or could turn her Kirsten into a mini doll and they all could play together.
Jenny, how is your Nellie doing?
